FTL & LTL

Full truckload and LTL, the right one for your load

Not sure whether your freight needs a whole trailer or just part of one? Here's how to choose — and how we handle both.

Compare

FTL vs LTL at a glance

Full Truckload (FTL)

Your freight gets its own trailer and travels direct — no transfers, no extra handling, fewer touch points and faster transit.

  • Best for 10+ pallets or full-trailer volume
  • Time-critical, high-value or fragile freight
  • One pickup, one delivery, no terminal stops
  • Predictable transit and securement

Less-than-Truckload (LTL)

Share trailer space with other shipments and pay only for what you use. The economical pick when you don't need a whole truck.

  • Best for 1–6 pallets
  • Cost-efficient for smaller, flexible freight
  • Clear transit windows
  • Careful handling and tracking

Choosing

FTL or LTL? A quick rule of thumb

01

Go FTL when volume is high or time is tight

If you're filling most of a trailer, shipping fragile goods, or working against a hard delivery window, a dedicated truck is faster and safer.

02

Go LTL when the load is small and flexible

A few pallets with some schedule flexibility ride efficiently and affordably on a shared trailer.

Frequently asked questions

Full truckload (FTL) dedicates an entire trailer to your freight for a direct, no-transfer trip — best for large or time-sensitive loads. Less-than-truckload (LTL) shares trailer space among multiple shippers, so you pay only for the space you use — best for smaller shipments.

Choose FTL when you have roughly ten or more pallets, fragile or high-value freight, or a tight delivery window where you can't afford terminal stops or transfers.

Choose LTL when you're shipping about one to six pallets and have some scheduling flexibility — it's the more economical option for smaller loads.
